Busan in Winter: 5 great Spots Even Local Fishermen Visit (Beyond Haeundae)

Great city Busan~!

 Winter in Busan is special.💪

While most tourists only think of the cold wind at Haeundae,
as a local fisherman who spends my mornings at the chilly seaside,
I know where the 'real' winter heat is.
I’m sharing my personal top 5 spots where you can feel the true soul of Busan this winter.

1. 🎄 Nampodong Christmas Tree Festival

Fisherman Choi’s Secret Tip:
"While everyone is looking at the lights,
I recommend walking just 10 minutes toward the Jagalchi Market seaside.
The winter night sea air here is 'real' Busan.

Nampodong becomes a full winter festival every December.

The streets light up with huge Christmas trees, glowing light tunnels, and festive displays.
Perfect for 📸 photos and grabbing a warm street snack like hotteok or fish cake.

2. 🚡 Songdo Marine Cable Car

Fisherman Choi’s Secret Tip:
"Look down at the water under the cable car.
You’ll see many small fishing boats and people fishing on the rocks (islands).
In winter, we catch 'Bol-rak' (Rockfish) here.

The Songdo Cable Car offers an amazing ride high above the ocean.

The winter air makes the sky clearer, giving you a beautiful view of the coast.
Best enjoyed at 🌅 sunset or 🌃 night, when the lights make the scenery even more stunning.

3. 🧖‍♂️ Shinsegae Centum City – Spa Land

Fisherman Choi’s Secret Tip:
"Fishermen’s muscles are always tight from pulling nets.
When I really need to recover, I go to the 'Salt Room' here.
It’s similar to the traditional sea-salt therapy we used to talk about

Nothing beats warming up in a spa during winter.
Spa Land has hot baths, saunas, steam rooms, and relaxing lounges—the perfect way to recharge after the cold.
A great place to rest your body and mind. ☺️

4. 🐠 SEA LIFE Busan Aquarium

Fisherman Choi’s Secret Tip:
"I’ve seen thousands of fish in the ocean,
but seeing them through the glass is a different story.
If you're lucky, you can see the 'Sand Tiger Sharks'.

Located right by Haeundae Beach, SEA LIFE is the best indoor attraction for chilly days.
You can see sharks, penguins, jellyfish, and walk through the famous underwater tunnel.
Perfect for couples, families, or anyone wanting a cozy break from the cold. 🐧✨

5. 🚋 Haeundae Blue Line Park – Sky Capsule

Fisherman Choi’s Secret Tip:
"The Sky Capsule follows the old railway line
where I used to walk to find hidden fishing spots.
Between Mipo and Cheongsapo, keep an eye out for the 'Haenyeo' (Female Divers)

The colorful Sky Capsule rides slowly along the coast, offering clear winter ocean views.

It’s a relaxing, romantic ride—great for dates or peaceful solo trips.
The sea looks even more beautiful in the crisp winter air. 💙🌊
